La Viarte Oparis Schioppettino 2022 is a distinguished red wine from the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC in northeastern Italy. Produced by the La Viarte estate in Prepotto, this wine showcases the elegance and complexity of the indigenous Schioppettino grape.

Winemaking Process

Grapes are hand-harvested from vineyards situated at an altitude of 150–200 meters above sea level, with eastern and southeastern exposure. The soils, known locally as “Ponca,” are composed of alternating layers of marl and sandstone. After gentle pressing, the must undergoes fermentation at controlled temperatures between 25°C and 28°C, with frequent pump-overs. The wine is aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks, followed by a further 6 months of bottle aging before release.
