Meet Sgreva. A very good find from Lake Garda.
We sat down to taste Sgreva's wines and found ourselves enjoying one after another. We started serving them at Locanda Gabriella, our family restaurant in Olney, and our customers loved them too. Now we're introducing more people to the winery through Donzella Wines.
One tasting. Rather a lot of favourites.
Normally a tasting leaves us with one or two bottles worth talking about. With Sgreva, it was pretty much the whole range. The whites were fresh, the reds were beautifully smooth, and even the rosé caught our attention.
We put the wines on the list at Locanda Gabriella. Our customers fell for them too. That's all the encouragement we needed.
There's more than one way to enjoy Sgreva.
We started with a few favourites. As more bottles arrive, you'll find them all in the live collection below.
Bright, fresh and full of character
From Sgreva's much-loved Lugana to other whites in the range, these are wines we'd happily pour with fish, seafood or a relaxed dinner.
Soft enough to enjoy, with plenty to say
There's more to Sgreva than white wine. Its reds bring fruit, balance and the sort of smooth finish that makes a second glass very tempting.
Dry, lively and made for the table
Lake Garda is also known for Chiaretto, its refreshing rosé style. Think antipasti, sunshine and something lovely to drink over lunch.

Three rocks. One family. Plenty of history.
Sgreva's story begins in 1960, when the first generation of the family settled in Lugana di Sirmione after moving from the Veronese plains. They recognised how well the land suited growing grapes, and the vineyard became the heart of the business.
Today, siblings Giacomo and Vanessa carry that work on with their mother, Francesca. The family calls themselves the three rocks — a symbol of the part each of them plays in the winery.
It's a proper family business. And while the winemaking has moved on over the years, the idea is still the same: look after the grapes and make wines people will enjoy drinking.
Why Lake Garda makes a difference
Sgreva's whites, reds and rosés all begin in the vineyards around Lake Garda. Here's how the location helps shape the range.
A climate that suits the grapes
Lake Garda helps soften extremes of temperature. Grapes can ripen while keeping the freshness that matters in whites, reds and rosés.
Different land, different wines
From clay-rich ground around Lugana to stonier soils further inland, the vineyards give Sgreva room to work with different grape varieties and styles.
Whites, reds and rosés
Turbiana is central to the Lugana whites, but Sgreva also works with red grapes to make smooth reds and dry, refreshing Chiaretto rosé.

What makes Sgreva worth discovering?
We chose Sgreva because we genuinely enjoyed the wines, and our restaurant customers did too. This is a family producer making several different styles around Lake Garda, from fresh Lugana whites to soft reds and dry Chiaretto rosé. The range is worth exploring beyond any one bottle.
What are Sgreva's white wines like?
Lugana is one of the best-known wines from the southern shore of Lake Garda, made from Turbiana grapes. Sgreva introduced Eufrasia in 1988. It offers citrus freshness, gentle texture and a hint of almond, which is one reason we enjoy it with seafood and risotto. You can see all the whites we currently stock in the Sgreva collection above.
What should I expect from Sgreva's reds?
One of our favourites is Etereo, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Marzemino and Barbera. It is rounded and approachable, with ripe red-fruit flavours and a fresh finish. Sgreva makes other red wines too, so as our selection expands you will find those in the shop above.
And what about the rosé wines?
Sgreva makes Chiaretto, the dry rosé style associated with Lake Garda. Rosabèl is one example: fresh, delicate and a good match for antipasti, grilled fish or a long lunch. It is a great reminder that the winery is not only about Lugana.
What food goes with the Sgreva range?
The whites are lovely with seafood, risotto and lighter dishes; reds work with pasta, grilled or roast meats; and Chiaretto rosé is excellent with antipasti and lighter lunches. Our food and wine pairing guide has plenty more ideas.
